DTF Printing
What is DTF printing?

DTF printing (Direct to Film) is a modern and versatile printing technique that allows high-quality designs to be applied to almost any type of textile. In addition to standard cotton or cotton blends, DTF can be used on a wide range of fabrics, including polyester, nylon, softshell, and traditional cotton.
The design is first printed onto a special film and then transferred onto the fabric using heat and pressure. The result is a vibrant, sharp print with rich colors and fine details. The print sits slightly on top of the fabric, creating a bold and professional finish.
What Can You Expect?
- Sharp prints with vibrant colors and fine details
- Wide applicability: suitable for cotton, polyester, nylon, softshell, and more
- Strong and flexible: the print has slight stretch and resists cracking
- Durable results: maintains quality with normal use and washing (30°C)
- Eye-catching appearance: the print sits slightly on top of the fabric for a professional effect
How Does DTF Printing Work?
The DTF process consists of several precise steps:
1. Creating the Design
The design is digitally prepared and optimized for printing, ensuring accurate colors, resolution, and detail.
2. Printing on Transfer Film
The design is printed using water-based inks onto a special PET transfer film. This film is heat-resistant and ensures sharp transfer quality.
3. Applying Adhesive Powder
While the ink is still wet, a special adhesive powder is applied. This powder ensures strong bonding between the print and the fabric.
4. Drying the Print
The printed and powdered film is heated so the adhesive powder melts and bonds with the ink.
5. Transferring to Textile
Using a heat press, the film is applied to the fabric under high temperature and pressure. The ink and adhesive layer fuse with the textile, ensuring a durable result.
6. Removing the Film
Once applied, the film is carefully removed, leaving behind a sharp and vibrant print ready for use.
