Designing a Mug

Design Placement for mugs

You can choose where your design will be printed on the mug:

  • Left of the handle → Often chosen if you want the logo or text to be visible for a right-handed user
  • Right of the handle → Ideal if you want the design to be visible for a left-handed user
  • Centered opposite the handle → The design is placed directly opposite the handle and is clearly visible while drinking
  • Panoramic (full wrap design) → Your design covers a large portion of the mug (within the print area boundaries)

Tips

  • Keep a 5 mm margin within the print area to prevent important elements like text or logos from being too close to the edge or cut off
  • Use bright, high-contrast colors
  • White is not a printable color on mugs — white areas will always appear as the color of the mug itself
  • Always use a resolution of 300 DPI to ensure a sharp print
  • Do not mirror your design — we will process the artwork correctly for printing

Understanding the Print Area

The mug print area can be divided into three equal sections:

  • The green areas represent the visible sides of the mug when held in the left or right hand
  • The blue area is located directly opposite the handle

Matching Mug Colors with Your Design

There are three types of colored mugs available:

  • Rim & handle colored
  • Inside & handle colored
  • Inside only colored

All three versions are available in 10 fixed colors:

  • Black
  • Navy
  • Light Blue
  • Dark Green
  • Light Green
  • Pink
  • Yellow
  • Red
  • Burgundy
  • Orange

⚠️ These colors are fixed and cannot be adjusted. However, you can match your design colors using the corresponding color codes.

File Requirements

For the best results, upload your design:

  • In 300 DPI resolution
  • In RGB color mode
  • As a JPG or PNG file
